Began last campaign in fine form over hurdles and value for extra when landing cramped odds on chase debut here in February. Never threatened on both subsequent starts (latest back hurdling) but worth a second look on return for a yard who have hit the target twice this month.

Fairly useful maiden chaser in France for David Cottin but just respectable efforts at best for Clive Boultbee-Brooks. Down in the weights as a result and sound start for this yard when second at Stratford (16.3f, heavy) last month. Can build on that here.

Would have gone close but for departing at Warwick (19f, heavy) when last seen 12 months ago, upsides when approaching last. A shade disconcerting that she's not been seen since but worth monitoring in the betting (returns 2 lb lower).

Made the frame all 4 starts after the turn of the year, finishing second on handicap debut in a 4-runner affair at Southwell (20.4f, heavy) in March. Not so good back down to 2m at Uttoxeter a month later and a first-time hood goes on for her reappearance.

Gained compensation for her final-flight fall at Worcester earlier in the season when winning 18-runner handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) earlier this month and ran at least as well under a penalty when third of 6 at Taunton (19f, good) last week. Should go well again.

Third in a bumper at Exeter on New Year's Day and gave reason for encouragement when a staying-on second in a Wincanton novice (15.2f) in March. Failed to repeat that at Chepstow next time and ran no sort of race on handicap debut when last seen in April. Bit to prove on return (had wind op).

£150,000 purchase after winning an Irish point and finished third on Rules debut in a Southwell bumper in 2023. Some promise in novice hurdles (left Ben Pauling after second one) but shaped as if amiss on handicap debut at Ludlow (21.2f, good to soft) last month. Tongue tie applied.

Flat-bred mare who took a step forward when runner-up on her handicap debut at Exeter on final start of last season. Looked rusty returning from 6 months off back there recently but worth another chance with that under her belt. Cheekpieces added to usual tongue tie.

Belatedly built on the promise shown in novice company to get off the mark here in March and ran to a similar level when third here (20f, soft) the following month. Should remain competitive provided she's ready to roll on reappearance.

Just one win (back in 2021) from 17 starts over hurdles but she was runner-up on her last couple of outings in the spring. In mostly good form on the level over the summer (won at this track in August) so she merits consideration back in this sphere. 1 lb out of the weights.

Forecasts

Wonderweasle (7/2), Hedera Park (4/1), Elusiveness (6/1), Triple Nickle (13/2), It's Easy (7/1), Cast's Tasha (15/2), Sanda Rena (8/1), Ma Belle Noire (8/1), Sweet Magic (12/1), Gata Ban (14/1), Miss Hunky Dory (22/1), Walkinthecotswolds (28/1)

Verdict

A host in with chances and it could pay to side with GATA BAN, who took a step back in the right direction at Chepstow a fortnight ago and shaped as though she'll come on again for the outing. Dropped a further 3 lb, she can get the better of Triple Nickle, who has been in good form on the level this summer (won at this course) and was twice runner-up over hurdles in May. It's Easy and Hedera Park are another couple that should go well, too.
