Basilette¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Daniel Sansom⁽³⁾| T: J W Mullins| OR: 93

5/2

Doyen filly who made a winning bumper debut in summer 2023. Similar form and less-than-straightforward in maidens on Flat since and got closer than on hurdling bow when runner-up of 3 at Plumpton (15.9f, good to soft) 2 weeks ago. Unlikely to be an easy watch, though (carries head awkwardly).

Form: 1-42

Blacksamssenorita²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard

11/8

Promise when third on her Taunton debut in March but found life tougher in a deeper race at Cheltenham the following month. Unable to make the most of her experience returning from 6 months off at Aintree recently but now sent hurdling with her yard amongst the winners.

Form: 30-7

Jakana¹⁶⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: C Brace| T: F O'Brien

5/1

Seemingly a slow learner but ended up showing more than previously when third of 9 in bumper at Southwell (15.8f, soft) back in June, staying on final 1f. Makes hurdles bow and warrants considerable respect from a top stable.

Form: 69-3

Lusso Milan^t1²⁷²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill

9/1

Made an encouraging start to her career when second of 11 at Plumpton just before Christmas but went backwards from that when down the field at Market Rasen a couple of months later. Not seen since and a tongue tie is applied for her hurdling debut.

Form: 24-

Chattamento¹⁸³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-13| J: G Sheehan| T: G Nicholls

7/1

Plenty of promise in bumpers, not looking the most straightforward under pressure but backing up her previous effort following a breathing operation when runner-up at Stratford (16.3f, good) back in May. Faces a few big yards on hurdling debut but certainly worthy of consideration.

Form: 94-2

Forecasts

Blacksamssenorita (11/8), Basilette (5/2), Jakana (5/1), Chattamento (7/1), Lusso Milan (9/1)

JAKANA has seemingly been a slow learner in bumpers but she took a step forward when runner-up at Southwell back in June so she could be worth chancing to make a winning start over hurdles at the expense of Basilette, who has an experience edge over his rivals but goes about things in a less-than-straightforward manner. Chattamento can fill out third in what looks a trappy contest.
