Spectra Group 'National Hunt' Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) (Div 1)

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Bonza Girl and out of a winning hurdler but not a great deal of encouragement to be gleaned from both starts in bumpers last season.

€42,000 3-y-o, £42,000 5-y-o, Workforce gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler (stayed 2¾m) Couleur France. Runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points in February and fair start to Rules career when third in a course bumper last month, faring best of those held up. More to come.

From a decent French NH family and produced a promising first effort when third in a bumper here a year ago, staying on gradually and best of those held up. Still a shade too green in a hood when second on hurdles debut in May and there should be more to come.

Point winner who took his unbeaten record to three with a couple of bumper wins last winter, including in a listed event at Newbury. Eighth in the Champion Bumper in March and looks a useful hurdles prospect.

Cost £205,000 after winning his only point. Well beaten when favourite for a Warwick bumper in March 2023 but subsequently had wind surgery and offered more when third in an Exeter novice hurdle in November of that year. Off since but retains potential.

Dam unraced sister to high-class hurdler (stayed 3m) Kilcooley. Belied odds of 18/1 to make a comfortable winning debut in a bumper at Ayr for Donald Whillans. Sold for £90,000 and a shade disappointing at Huntingdon 5 months later bur he's in good hands now hurdling with a hood.

Second foal, dam fair maiden on Flat (stayed 1½m).

Runner-up completed start in Irish points but little to shout about both hurdles outings. Hood on.

Shaped well when second to I Am Max (won again next time) in Carlisle bumper on debut in February. Matched that form both starts since and that is a sound platform for hurdling.
