Wetherby novice scorer (2m, heavy) 11 months ago who largely acquitted himself well in handicaps thereafter, keeping on for fourth at Kempton (2m) in April. Commands respect on the back of a 6-month lay off.
Has just the one win to his name but went close to adding to his tally at Worcester (2m) in June. Creditable efforts on the whole over fences/hurdles since but the assessor looks to have him about right on balance. Cheekpieces added to usual tongue tie.

Landed a juvenile maiden at Hereford (16.2f) in February prior to a good fourth in Bangor handicap (16.6f) in May. In rude health on the Flat subsequently, winning 3 of his 5 starts since and he appeals as being on a workable mark returned to this sphere. Interesting.
Bumper/hurdles winner and has shown promise on 2 of his 3 starts over fences in recent months. Hood worn last time is discarded now returned to timber and no surprise to see a decent showing having slipped to a career-low mark.
Improver switched to handicaps, twice a runner-up prior to shaping as if still in good form upped in trip when fourth of 14 at Worcester (20f) back in July. Another who commands respect stepping back down in trip. Tongue tie discarded.
Losing run stretches back to spring of last year and absent since finishing down the field in handicap on the Flat at Bath (17.1f) in June. Needs to hit the ground running back from 4 months off.
Prolific winner over fences/hurdles back in 2022 but struggled for form largely campaigned over hurdles last season. Better signs first 2 starts this summer and whilst he disappointed at Sedgefield last month, that was his first start for 3 months. One to keep an eye on.
Bumper winner who opened his account following wind surgery/equipped with a hood at Huntingdon (15.8f) 12 months ago. Exploits mixed since, including when well beaten on the level at Salisbury (14.2f) 3 weeks ago. Mark has eased a little more at least.
Had bit in hand when opening his account at Market Rasen (18.6f) last summer and shaped as if needing the run after 12 months off when fifth of 9 in handicap at that venue 25 days ago. Entitled to be sharper now and Brian Hughes again in the plate.

Forecasts
Goblet Of Fire (9/4), Jeudidee (4/1), Toonagh Warrior (9/2), Forget The Way (13/2), Ascension Day (7/1), Jack The Savage (12/1), Prospect House (14/1), Clear The Runway (25/1), John Betjeman (28/1)
GOBLET OF FIRE has improved further on the Flat since last seen over hurdles and Nicky Henderson's 4-y-o makes plenty of appeal returned to this sphere from what could well prove a lenient mark. Jeudidee and Ascension Day head up the dangers, along with Toonagh Warrior who isn't out of things on his seasonal bow.
