A dual chase winner last season who returned to form when third at Stratforrd last time. Made hard work of things, however, and returns to hurdling now.
Struggled over fences last season following creditable reappearance in the Haldon Gold Cup but was back to form over hurdles on penultimate outing. Unseated in a chase here three months ago.
Back to his best when scoring over hurdles at Uttoxeter in June and, after a couple of lesser efforts, wasn't disgraced on chasing debut at Worcester 19 days ago. Merits respect.
Returned from 7 months off to win at Plumpton (20.5f, good to soft) last November but hasn't shown much subsequent starts, leaving Alan King prior to latest at Stratford 3 months ago.
Has been in good order this summer and didn't need to improve to land a Bangor handicap a fortnight ago, albeit not having much to spare. Should give another good account.
Smooth-traveller who added to his terrific course record when scoring cosily over 2m in June. Raan respectably over C&D last time and should be on the premises again.
Fairly useful Flat winner in Germany. Kicked off his hurdle career with maiden/novice wins at Newton Abbot at the end of summer and has shown better form in defeat in handicap company since. Scored comfortably on the Flat recently, so makes plenty of appeal.
Back on the up when landing a 15-runner event at this course last time and might not have reached his limit, so looks a player if he gets the trip.

Forecasts
Wonderful Eagle (11/10), Melton Mossy (10/3), Finisk River (15/2), War Lord (8/1), Clearance (10/1), Onemorefortheroad (18/1), Forever William (25/1), Edison Kent (28/1)
WONDERFUL EAGLE has left the impression there's a bigger effort in him over hurdles if his jumping improves and he arrives on the back of a successful effort on the Flat, so he's worth a chance to add another C&D win to his record. Last-time-out winners Finisk River and Melton Mossy could emerge as the main dangers.
