Off Spin²²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby

14/1

40/1, encouraging third of 9 in novice at Ripon (1m, good to firm) on debut 22 days ago. Can be expected to improve.

Form: 3

(8)

Shah¹⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Tom Marquand| T: G Boughey

10/11

Chased home Solario runner-up Matauri Bay on Leicester debut and shaped well again when second in the valuable Convivial maiden over 7f here at the Ebor meeting. Should be more to come, particularly at 1m. Hard to beat.

Form: 22

(1)

Spirit Of Murray

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: T Eaves| T: K A Ryan

20/1

250,000 gns Camelot colt. Dam, useful Australian 9f-11f winner (including Group 1 event), out of winning half-sister to very smart performer up to 1¾m Unfurled. Interesting newcomer for a stable no stranger to first-time-out 2-y-o success here.

Form:

(5)

Springbok²³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey

40/1

Twice-raced maiden. 8/1, fourth of 10 in novice at Thirsk (7f, good) 23 days ago. Looks more one for nurseries after this.

Form: 54

(4)

U S Grant^b1¹⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Shane Gray| T: K A Ryan

150/1

Last of 6 both starts. Needs to be transformed by first-timee blinkers.

Form: 66

(3)

Windlord⁶⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A M Balding

6/5

Dubawi colt who has made a bright start, building on debut effort when second of 10 in novice at Sandown (7f) in July. Looks sure to be suited by this increase in trip and there's better to come.

Form: 42

(2)

Harswell Ruby²³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: Jason Hart| T: R Fell & S Murray

25/1

Promising sort. Third of 10 in maiden (50/1) at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) on debut 23 days ago, finishing well. Significantly up in trip. Should improve.

Form: 3

Forecasts

Shah (10/11), Windlord (6/5), Off Spin (14/1), Spirit Of Murray (20/1), Harswell Ruby (25/1), Betelgeuse (33/1), Springbok (40/1), Lever Up (50/1), U S Grant (150/1)

SHAH sets the bar high on his Convivial maiden form and should get off the mark. Andrew Balding's Windlord is the obvious threat. Off Spin and Harswell Ruby can fight it out for third unless the market speaks in the favour of Kevin Ryan newcomer Spirit of Murray.
