Useful gelding. Latest win at the Curragh in June. Eleventh of 12 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, good, 12/1) 15 days ago. Looks vulnerable for win purposes on these terms.

Useful gelding. C&D winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. 14/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Leopardstown (9f, good) 22 days ago, always holding on. Solid chance.

Thrice-raced winner. Sixth of 12 in handicap at Naas (8f, good to firm, 11/1) 82 days ago, slowly away. Again didn't particularly impress with his head carriage but he clearly possess ability.

Fair gelding. Below form tenth of 16 in handicap (5/1) at Gowran (7f, good) 13 days ago, merely closing up late. Back up in trip and he has a mountain to climb on these terms.

Forecasts

Longbourn (5/6), Wigmore Street (5/2), Star Harbour (3/1), Smooth Tom (10/3), Lohengrin (40/1)

Verdict

LONGBOURN looks the most solid option on the back of his victory in a decent Leopardstown handicap last month. Presumably Wigmore Street hasn't been the easiest to train and his awkward head carriage is slightly disconcerting, but the he actually wasn't beaten far at Naas last time and it's too soon to forget how good he looked when winning his sole 2-y-o start. Smooth Tom is best of the rest.
