FBC Manby Bowdler Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) (Div 1)

Lightly-raced maiden. Getting better by the run over hurdles and shaped with encouragement when fourth in a handicap at Cork on final outing for Sam Curling 9 months ago. Not seen since but worthy of interest if the market speaks in his favour on debut for a new stable.

Dam half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3m) Master Jake. Fair handicapper at best on Flat, stays 12.5f, below form for current yard.

£80,000 point recruit who was fourth in a bumper a year ago. Bettered hurdling debut when runner-up in a novice at Wincanton three months ago and that's clearly the best piece of form on show, so he's the one to beat.

Telescope gelding out of 1½m-1¾m winner who stayed 16.5f. Well held only start in bumpers/on Flat to date.

£6,500 6-y-o, Mahler gelding. Dam, ran once over hurdles/once in bumper, half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chase winner (stayed 2½m) Golan Guy. Off mark in Irish points at second attempt (May 6). Goes hurdling now for very good stable and he commands a second look.

Smart Flat winner who has offered promise over hurdles and is easily forgiven his latest non-completion having been carried out early. Remains with obvious potential as a hurdler.

Zambezi Sun gelding. Dam (c100/h92) 2½m chase winner. Likely to need more time and is hard to make a solid case for.

Fairly useful handicapper on Flat and best effort to date on the Flat when runner-up in a novice at Stratford last time. This is stronger, so he'll need to improve again.

Fair form in France for Francois Nicolle pulled up on latest hurdling outing and didn't fire on the Flat last time.

In good hands but minor promise only in a brace of bumpers/over hurdles.

Limited impact in bumpers. Makes no appeal on hurdling debut.
