It looks significant that Patrick Mullins partners BASE OF FIRE instead of the Willie Mullins-trained Steppingstone, and preference is for the former who built on his encouraging debut when runner-up at Punchestown back from a break last month. Steppingstone ran no sort of a race first time out at Kilbeggan last August be he was sent off at 4/11 that day, which suggests that he is thought capable of a good deal better. Eastbank Warrior, newcomer Stand Back and Jazzwing are others to consider.
