3-time C&D winner but has struggled in class 2 handicaps since his runner-up effort on the Rowley course in May. Handicapper given him a chance, so he could well bounce back dropped in grade.
Won 4 times on Flat (also successful in a juvenile hurdle) last year. Ran well on return from 6 months off when second of 8 at Nottingham in May but couldn't land any blow at all having a shot at something much stronger at Epsom (10.1f, soft) later that month. Drops back in trip/grade.
Progressed again to follow up from Newmarket at Chelmsford (8f) just under 2 weeks ago, made to work harder but showing a good attitude at the business end. Up another 5 lb and plenty to like in his hat-trick bid with the booking of Buick catching the eye.
Looked a typically hard ride early but found more at the business end than has been the case to record a first win on turf at Goodwood (8f, good) just over 5 weeks ago. The nature of that race seemed to suit him, so he's not an obvious type to follow up.
Ended a long losing run in some style when landing an amateur riders' handicap at Doncaster (1½m, soft) in March. However, poor efforts on Flat/over hurdles since so has plenty to prove at present.
Completed a hat-trick last summer but much more of a mixed bag this season, running creditably from falling mark when fourth at Kempton (8f) earlier in the month. Spencer on board for the first time and need to string a couple of good efforts together.
Won a maiden at Chelmsford (6f) in February and has been holding his form well since (yet to finish outside the frame this season), runner-up for the second start in a row at Chester (7f, good) 3 weeks ago. Should be in the thick of it again.
Runner-up over C&D on penultimate start and placed again but did nothing quickly under pressure when third in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago. 3 lb higher here, but yard couldn't be in much better nick.

Forecasts
Jungle Mac (3/1), Dutch Decoy (3/1), Berkshire Nugget (10/3), Red Hat Eagle (5/1), I Still Have Faith (17/2), Double Time (12/1), City Of York (14/1), Throne Hall (100/1)
Cases can be made for most, but preference is for BERKSHIRE NUGGET, who is yet to finish out of the placings this season and his yard couldn't be in much better form. Red Hat Eagle arrives on a hat-trick, and with the services of William Buick enlisted, he's fancied to be in the shake-up. Dutch Decoy should find this drop in grade liberating, so he can edge out Jungle Mac for third.
