A fairly useful maiden on the Flat who opened his account with a much-improved display in 10-runner maiden hurdle over C&D last month, eased down. Confirmed that improvement back in a handicap when third at Newton Abbot 2 weeks ago and sets a clear standard under a penalty.
Didn't look straightforward on his last 2 starts for Andrew Balding (sold for 20,000 gns in September) but he was useful on the Flat at best so is worthy of huge respect starting out over hurdles for new yard.

€32,000 3-y-o, Mount Nelson gelding. Dam unraced sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stayed 21f) Zuzka and half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 25f) Puffin Billy. Interesting newcomer.
Modest form on the Flat and well held on hurdles bow at Uttoxeter 9 days ago.
Showed ability in bumpers but no impact on the Flat since and poor form when fifth on Huntingdon hurdle debut.
Well held in pair of Irish bumpers but runner-up on latest start in points prior to offering a bit when fifth of 11 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.6f, good, 80/1) on hurdles bow 23 days ago, keeping on.
Fell heavily first in novice hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good) on debut and no promise at Stratford after.

Jumeirah King (10/11), Missing In Action (5/2), Groundbreaker (5/1), Spitfire Bridge (12/1), Runaway Train (12/1), Final Escape (14/1), Ghost Jury (25/1), Prince Abu (100/1), Kadarra (150/1)
GROUNDBREAKER was useful on the Flat for Andrew Balding before losing his way and the switch to hurdling may reignite his interest starting out for a new yard after 10 months off. Penalised-winner Jumeirah King is the obvious threat, while Missing In Action is a newcomer to note.
