4/1

Sixth of 7 in handicap at Haydock (8f, firm, 11/5) 12 days ago. Was knocking on the door prior to that and likely he'll be in the mix if on-song now tried in cheekpieces.

Form: 642336

7/1

Latest win at Southwell in March. 40/1, last of 15 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good) 47 days ago. Others make more appeal from a win point of view.

Form: 6-22160

Red Maids^t⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: David Probert| T: M G Rimell| OR: 73| D

9/2

Good second of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 16/1) 9 days ago, slowly away. Down another 2 lb and this filly is one to consider.

Form: 40-8452

(5)

Algheed⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-9| J: Saffie Osborne| T: D M Loughnane| OR: 73| D

7/1

Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. 28/1, creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 9 days ago. Will probably need a couple of these to falter if she's to get head her in front.

Form: 232464

7/2

Winner at Lingfield in April. Twelfth of 13 in handicap (28/1) at Chester (7.6f, soft) 19 days ago. Evidence available at this stage suggests that he's more of a force on the AW.

Forecasts

Purefoy (7/2), Hat Toss (4/1), Woodstock (9/2), Red Maids (9/2), Chola Empire (7/1), Algheed (7/1), State Flag (14/1), Tadreeb (14/1)

If able to build on her recent second over this C&D, RED MAIDS could prove to be the answer to what looks a rather trappy handicap. Hat Toss failed to fire last time but he showed enough prior to that to suggest that his turn is near, while Woodstock also merits respect.
