Shamardal filly. Half-sister 1¼m-1½m winner Jalmoud and winner up to 9f Magic Lily, both smart and by New Approach. Dam 1¼m-1½m (Oaks) winner. Did really well to make a winning debut in class 2 novice at Ascot 17 days ago, overcoming a poor position. Open to significant improvement.

Frankel filly. Dam, Australian 2-y-o 5f-6f (Group 1) winner, sister to smart 5f/6f winner Remarque. 6/1, looked a fine prospect when quickening 6 lengths clear of a subsequent winner in 13-runner novice event at Kempton (8f) on debut in November. Up in trip. Sure to progress and could prove smart.

Sea The Stars filly. Dam, ran once at 2 yrs, half-sister to high-class 1¼m/11f winner Poet's Word. Successful in 7-runner novice event on Newmarket July Course (7f) in August, staying on well. That form nothing special but she's a well-bred filly who promises to be suited by this increase in trip.

Won a maiden that is working out well on final 2-y-o outing and took her form up another notch when making a winning handicap debut over 2f longer trip at Doncaster on return. Handles the mud well so any rain would increase her chance.

Siyouni filly. Half-sister to useful 6f/7f winner Thaler. Dam, winner up to 11f, including Falmouth Stakes. Overcame inexperience and positional bias to make a winning start in class 2 novice at Sandown 3 weeks ago. Looks useful already and has scope for plenty of improvement.

Forecasts

Ejaabiyah (5/2), Diamond Rain (3/1), Siyola (3/1), Meribella (4/1), Our Golden One (9/1), Local Arms (14/1)

Verdict

Traditionally a strong listed race for 3-y-o fillies with 4 of the last 5 runnings won by subsequent Group 1 winners, and this year's renewal is loaded with potential, notably Arc entrant SIYOLA, who had Wednesday's Musidora winner Secret Satire 1¼ lengths behind her when making a winning debut at Sandown. Ejaabiyah looked a fine prospect when slamming a subsequent winner by 6 lengths on her debut at Kempton in the autumn, while Diamond Rain did very well to overcome a poor position at Ascot.
