Winning pointer who showed benefit of a wind op when landing handicaps over hurdles/fences during the winter. Seen just 3 times since the turn of the year and didn't fare all that well when seventh of 9 in handicap chase at Ludlow (23.8f) 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces go on now.

Dual course winner who is a fair chaser nowadays and his latest Taunton third confirms he still has plenty to offer, travelling best before tiring late on. Possibly made his effort earlier than ideal then and worth considering eased back in trip.

Dual winner at Plumpton for Joe Tizzard during 2022/23 campaign but very lightly raced since and not got near that level in trio of starts for present stable in recent months. Cheekpieces added to usual tongue tie and comes here on the back of wind surgery. Tough to assess.

Not straightforward but put it all together under a good ride when winning 4-runner C&D handicap 6 weeks ago, leading 4 out and quickening clear. Whether he'll be in the same form here in questionable, however.

Sixteen runs since last win in 2021 and he hard a hard race when finishing last of 3 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (24f, heavy, 10/3) 38 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time but percentage call to look elsewhere.

Point winner/dual winner over hurdles who made most of good opportunity when landing 2-runner Exeter novice chase (24.2f) in October. Absent/undergone wind surgery since but more on his plate returned to handicaps following 7 months off.

Bright start over fences when winning handicaps at Catterick/here earlier this year. However, he's run well below that level both starts since and visor needs to have positive effect now upped in trip.

Hurdles winner last spring and struck at first time of asking over fences at Catterick (19.2f) in November. Took a nasty fall next time but confirmed himself still one to be interested in when third at Ayr (20.5f) in March. Unexposed at this trip and shortlisted.

11/1
Hurdles/chase winner who confirmed himself back in better form faced with stiffish task when fourth of 7 in handicap chase at Taunton (23f) in February. This more suitable back from a break and she's now operating 6 lb below last winning mark.

Runner-up on completed start in points and promise over hurdles, best effort to date when second of 13 on C&D handicap debut 3 weeks ago. Feasible to think he can do better again now tackling larger obstacles.

As good as ever when scoring at Taunton (26f) last month and unsuited by the race developed when third at Ffos Las (23.8f) 7 days ago, finishing with running left. Should continue in form.

Pair of 2m wins at the end of 2020 and whilst he's drawn a blank since, did go close to ending the drought at Huntingdon (23.6f) 3 weeks ago, collared close home. Should be thereabouts again but others preferred for win purposes.

Jeteye (11/4), Coniston Clouds (5/1), James Jet (6/1), Jessie Lightfoot (13/2), Bbold (8/1), Rostello (10/1), Almazhar Garde (10/1), Est Illic (11/1), Love Actually (11/1), Noche Negra (16/1), Shanty Alley (33/1), Atakan (50/1), Glengeever (50/1)

Verdict

CONISTON CLOUDS showed no ill effects of a heavy fall when finishing a good third over fences at Ayr (20.5f) in March and, still unexposed in this sphere/including at this longer trip, he earns the vote to confirm himself on a handy mark. Bbold ran a solid race when third at Taunton last time and he's a danger eased back down in trip. Love Actually and chase-debutant Jeteye are others to consider.
