Thrice-raced maiden. 5/2, fifth of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (6f) in December, weakening when short of room last ½f. Switch to handicaps rates a plus on return but opening mark demands progress.

Showed improved form when finishing runner-up on each of his last 3 starts as a 2-y-o and continued progressive theme this spring, winning handicaps at Newcastle/over C&D in recent weeks. Should continue to give a good account.

Latest win at Newcastle in February. 11/1, last of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 21 days ago, weakening early in the straight having raced freely. Needs to bounce back returned to the minimum trip.

Heavily-backed 4/6 and much improved when winning 11-runner handicap at Southwell (5f) on return 34 days ago, in a different league to his rivals. Handicapper has reacted but there's surely plenty more to come. The one to beat.

50/1
Lightly-raced maiden who was never involved back at the minimum trip when 4¾ lengths sixth of 8 to Be Here Now in handicap at this C&D (33/1) 18 days ago. Handicapper has relinquished his grip but others appeal more for win purposes.

Forecasts

Cloud King (8/11), Eternal Fortune (16/5), Torvar (13/2), Front Gunner (8/1), Kipp Kelly (50/1)

Verdict

CLOUD KING was all the rage in the betting and proved a different proposition switched to handicaps when running out a comfortable winner over C&D 5 weeks ago. He's been hit with a 12 lb rise but the way he went about things suggests there's plenty more to come. Be Here Now is progressing nicely himself and rates the lead threat.
