Millie's 18th Birthday Celebration Novices' Limited Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 16:46 | Winning time: 4m 23.03s

Mi Sueno²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-11| J: Rob Hargreaves⁽⁷⁾| T: P Butler| OR: 94| C

11/1

Belatedly opened his account when making all in Fakenham selling handicap in February. Again allowed a soft lead when following up here (2m, soft) next time but only raised 2 lb for that and another bold show could be on the way.

Angel's Dream⁸⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: N F Houlihan| T: G & J Moore| OR: 93| C

8/1

Much-improved on third hurdles start when landing a 2m maiden here (good to firm) last May. Has failed to make much of an impact in 4 starts switched to handicaps this time round, though, and yard saddles a stronger candidate in Sanitiser.

Form: 3-18846

Star Of Affinity⁶⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard| OR: 92

13/2

Some promise when fifth in Taunton bumper and 2m Kempton novice hurdle first 2 starts. Yet to be asked for his effort when falling 4 out at Fontwell last time and it will be interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting on this handicap debut.

Form: 5-50F

Uncle Arthur^t⁴⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Tom Cannon| T: James Owen| OR: 89

12/1

Opened hurdles account on fourth and final start for Fergal O'Brien in December and ran with credit back in handicap company for new yard at Newcastle next time. Ran no sort of a race at Lingfield last time but will have a fighting chance if able to get back on track.

Form: 4013F5

Soir De Gala^t⁴⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 87

5/4

Promise on Wincanton bumper debut last spring and again when fifth of 16 on hurdling bow at Exeter on New Year's Day, albeit he did finish rather weakly. Well held both subsequent starts but he's in good hands and he appeals as the type to step up now switched to handicap company.

Form: 3-0509

Berlais Du George¹⁰⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Bradley Harris⁽³⁾| T: J W Mullins| OR: 86

25/1

Encouraging signs when fourth in an 8-runner novice on hurdles debut here (2m, good to soft) in October. However, he hasn't offered much in 2 subsequent starts and needs to raise his game considerably now pitched into a handicap.

Form: 8-460

Macari³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-11| J: M Goldstein| T: Miss S West| OR: 88

11/2

Modest maiden hurdler who found just one too good on his handicap debut here (2m, soft) at the end of February. Should pick up a race at some point on that evidence but others look stronger here all the same.

Form: 766372

Who Is That^p⁷⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 10-8| J: Rex Dingle| T: C Gordon| OR: 77

12/1

Notched third chase success at Fontwell last spring but he has failed to fire both starts here since returning from a break in December, including back hurdling last time.

Form: 2P1-F8P

Gardons La^t³³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-6| J: R P McLernon| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 75

40/1

Just a modicum of promise in 2 starts in France and has shown barely anything for current yard.

Form: P7R87P

Importateur^h²⁹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-5| J: Tom Buckley⁽³⁾| T: T R Gretton| OR: 60

50/1

No show in 4 starts over hurdles to date and he faces a stiff task from 14 lb out of the weights on this handicap debut/first run for new yard following a 9-month absence.

Form: U00-P7

Forecasts

Soir De Gala (5/4), Macari (11/2), Cuban Court (6/1), Star Of Affinity (13/2), Angel's Dream (8/1), Sanitiser (10/1), Mi Sueno (11/1), Who Is That (12/1), Uncle Arthur (12/1), Berlais Du George (25/1), Gardons La (40/1), Importateur (50/1), Cards Are Dealt (50/1)

SANITISER wasn't given a hard time when fourth on his first run over hurdles for this yard at Kempton in November and he is of strong interest here. Next on the list is Soir de Gala, who may well get back on track for his top connections now that he ventures down the handicap route, while the hat-trick seeking Mi Sueno has to enter calculations, too.
