Useful bumper winner who shaped well when third in 2m novice hurdle at Ayr but off over 2 years since. Much respected on his handicap debut after a long absence.

Much imporved when getting off the mark in 16-runner handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft) 54 days ago. Up 10 lb but had plenty in hand there so can go well again.

Low-mileage 6-y-o who has gone with some promise, cheekpieces on when fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, heavy) 67 days ago. Has to be taken seriously off a 3 lb lower mark under these less testing conditions.

Fair form first 2 runs in bumpers but he arrives on the back of two below-par runs in this sphere. Needs to get back on track if he's to open his account.

Fair maiden hurdler for Peter Fahey in 2021 but his comeback display on debut for this yard at Hereford was devoid of promise, even allowing for the fact that he was returning from a 17-month absence.

Good fourth in novice here (16.6f) on Boxing Day and backed up that effort when fifth of 9 at Doncaster last time. Could do better now handicapping. Possibilities.

Successful twice in 2021 but he didn't show much in 2 appearances last year and again at Uttoxeter last summer. Hard to warm to.

Scored at Southwell last March but her more recent form is far less encouraging, only sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Catterick (15.7f, heavy) 90 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere.

Emily Wade (16/5), Mammies Boy (11/2), King Of The Road (13/2), God's Own Getaway (7/1), Geordie Night (7/1), Highway One O Five (15/2), Sauce Of Life (10/1), Garitsa Bay (14/1), Special Dragon (28/1), Monty Nevett (28/1), Millford Sound (33/1), Mr Mahler (33/1), Magna Moralia (33/1), Treasured Company (50/1)

Verdict

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and GOD'S OWN GETAWAY is worth siding with to build on previous promise under these less testing conditions and capitalise on a handy-looking mark. Easy Taunton scorer Mammies Boy rates the obvious danger, while handicap-debutants Geordie Night and Sauce of Life warrant respect too.
