Useful winner at his best for Sir Michael Stoute. Off 14 months/sold 38,000 gns, probably needed run when last of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) in December. This promises to reveal more but yard may well hold stronger claims with Isle of Sark.
Dual winner at 2 yrs who justified good support to end losing run when taking 11-runner handicap (5/2) at Newmarket (12f, soft) in November. Absent since but he remains lightly raced at this sort of trip. Not out of things from revised mark.
Latest win at Kempton (11f) in January. 7/2, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 18 days ago, weakening final 1f. Likely type to bounce back.
Justified good support when off the mark in a Kempton maiden (11f) in October. 11/2, creditable 6¾ lengths seventh of 14 to Safety Catch in listed race at Lingfield (13f, AW) a month later. Better expected returned to handicaps.
Sixteen runs since last win in 2020. 9/4, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f) 5 days ago, challenging final 1f and just failing. Can make presence felt.
Tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 12/1) 39 days ago, left poorly placed. Others make more appeal.
Latest win at Yarmouth (10.1f) in September. 22/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (1m) 21 days ago, possibly needing the run after 4 months off. This longer trip rates more suitable and entitled to be sharper here.
Course winner. 13/2, good fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 18 days ago, finishing with running left. Should give another good account back up in trip.
Winner at Lingfield in December. 7/2, respectable 5¾ lengths sixth of 10 to Fox Flame in handicap at this C&D 15 days ago, keeping on when no room over 1f out. Not dismissed out of hand.
Flat/hurdles winner for Alan King who has improved further for present stable, well-served by test of speed when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (15.6f, soft) in November 2022. Lengthy absence to overcome here and the market may prove a useful guide as to expectations.
Temperamental for Eve Johnson Houghton but has thrived for a yard switch last term, winning 3 of his 5 starts on the Flat. Minor promise in couple of hurdle outings has followed and each-way player returned to the level.
Three wins from 17 runs last year. 16/1, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at this C&D 15 days ago from Isle of Sark (second past the post but subsequently promoted). Building up a solid record around this venue and not discounted nudged up 2 lb.

Forecasts
Ayyab (2/1), Isle Of Sark (5/2), Liseo (15/2), Masqool (12/1), Mount Olympus (12/1), Cavern Club (18/1), Wind Your Neck In (20/1), Fox Flame (22/1), Ninth Life (25/1), Wahraan (25/1), Tarbaan (28/1), Sonning (125/1)
An interesting handicap with the vote in favour of AYYAB. A low-mileage 4-y-o, she was very impressive when opening her account at Kempton in the autumn and, with this more suitable than her listed assignment thereafter, she's fancied to go well from what rates a handy mark. Isle of Sark is knocking firmly on the door and feared, with Ninth Life, who wasn't seen to best effect latest, also considered. Fox Flame can also figure.
- Ayyab2/1
- Isle Of Sark5/2
- Ninth Life25/1
