From the family of American Mike and looked an above-average bumper recruit himself when landing a 12-runner event at Doncaster in January. More to come and deserves plenty of respect despite the penalty.

Telescope gelding who has shown signs of promise when hitting the frame on his first two starts but will need more if he's to seriously feature in this.

Half-brother to a couple of winning jumpers but not enough encouragement at Exeter first time out to make him of any interest here.

Hinted at ability when sixth in a bumper at Exeter four months ago. Probably more one for the longer term, though.

Forecasts

Les's Destiny Star (15/8), Valgrand (15/8), Chief Sunday (9/4), Boston Boy (4/1), Silver Thorn (7/1), Good And Clever (8/1), Lennie Godber (12/1), Lightningupourdays (14/1), Beauparc Seven (33/1), Lions Peak (50/1), Native Nellie (100/1), Park And Ride (150/1), Boots Bridge (150/1), Sir Rodney (200/1)

Verdict

VALGRAND, having been second in a point, produced a big effort to fill the same position at Cheltenham 4 months ago and, in this lesser race, he's likely to open his account. Boston Boy is another notable recruit from between the flags and Les's Destiny Star was an impressive winner first time out, so they're both regarded as dangers.
