Looked a useful prospect when making a winning start in 8-runner maiden at Newcastle (7.1f) in September, leading under 2f out and soon quickening clear. Not seen to best effect on valuable event at York following month and worth another chance.

Much better for debut when winning 13-runner maiden at Kempton (7f, 13/2), having run of race. Off 111 days. Has to be taken seriously.

Forecasts

Bravo Zulu (4/7), African Spirit (10/3), Serengeti Sunrise (13/2), Duke Wellington (8/1), Red Scotch (18/1), Diligent Henry (125/1), Alexandra Aclaim (150/1), Turkish Tiger (150/1)

Verdict

AFRICAN SPIRIT wasn't seen to best effect in a valuable event at York in October so is worth another chance having looked a useful prospect when making a winning debut at Southwell the previous month. Bravo Zulu confirmed debut promise when scoring at Kempton in November and is the obvious threat, while Duke Wellington and Red Scotch both showed something to work on starting out last month.
