Fair maiden on the Flat for James Ferguson and while his hurdles debut was inauspicious (first-flight faller), he put in a clear round when fourth of 11 in a Ludlow juvenile next time. Improved again when third at Newbury and that puts him right in the mix with promise of more to come.

Fair 1m4f Flat winner who has shown similar form in this sphere, cheekpieces on for first time in this code when third of 11 in juvenile at Sedgefield in October. Visor now on and he returns with yard among the winners.

Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Charlie Johnston. Finished runner-up but ultimately didn't achieve a great deal on hurdles debut at Wetherby in January. Expected to build on that.

Brother to a useful hurdler but has shown just modest form at best on the Flat and well held on hurdles debut.

5/1
Modest maiden on the Flat who has already surpassed that form over hurdles, running to a fair level when second of 13 at Killarney (17f, soft) in August (final start for Ross O'Sullivan). Not in the same form both starts for this yard but this is a drop in class.

Just a modest maiden on the Flat in Ireland for Jack Davison and bettered previous hurdling efforts when second in a juvenile at Doncaster in December. Out of her depth in listed company back there since.

Forecasts

Glorious Lion (11/10), Man Of Monaco (4/1), Thats Jet (5/1), Ruler Of The River (7/1), Ironopolis (7/1), National Question (150/1)

Verdict

GLORIOUS LION is going the right way over hurdles and a repeat of his performance when third at Newbury last week may well suffice in this slightly easier contest. Ironopolis represents a yard in excellent form and he looks the main danger.
