(7)

Sam's Xpress²¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Dylan Hogan| T: K P Cotter| OR: 63| CD

8/1

C&D winner. 6/1, bit below form fifth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 3 weeks ago, doing too much too soon. Others more persuasive.

Form: 0379-55

(10)

(11)

Phil's Dream^t,v²³

Age: 4| Weight: 9-1| J: Siobhan Rutledge⁽³⁾| T: J C McConnell| OR: 55| CD

Form: 900-013

(5)

Bonny Power⁴²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: James Ryan⁽⁵⁾| T: E Lynam| OR: 54| CD

10/1

C&D winner. Given a chance by the handicapper and took a big step back in the right direction when 1½ lengths third of 14 to Phil's Dream in handicap (7/1) at this C&D 6 weeks ago. One to bear in mind from 1 lb lower.

Form: 50907-3

(2)

Cuban Grey^p,t⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: J M Sheridan| T: P J McKenna| OR: 54| D

18/1

Ran even worse than on yard debut when last of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 22/1) 7 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and handicapper is at least relinquishing his grip.

Form: 7033-60

(12)

Hero Of The Hour²³

Age: 7| Weight: 8-13| J: Robert Whearty⁽⁵⁾| T: G A Kingston| OR: 53| C

17/2

Three wins from 12 runs last year. Not seen to best effect when 2¼ lengths fifth of 14 to Theriverrunsdeep in handicap at this course (6f, 3/1) 23 days ago, making his ground away from the main action. Solid each-way claims.

Form: 4364-45

(4)

Below Deck^b²³

Age: 4| Weight: 8-11| J: Nathan Crosse| T: L Comer| OR: 51| BF

11/2

Respectable 2¾ lengths sixth of 14 to Theriverrunsdeep in handicap at this course (6f, 11/4) 23 days ago. Blinkers back on. Went agonisingly close over 5f on penultimate start and there's plenty to like returned to the minimum trip.

Form: 352-326

(9)

My Girl Sioux²³

Age: 4| Weight: 8-8| J: Andrew Slattery| T: A Slattery| OR: 48

12/1

Ran well when 1¼ lengths second of 14 to Theriverrunsdeep in handicap (10/1) at this course (6f) 23 days ago. Long-standing maiden however, so best to look elsewhere for win purposes.

Form: 547-742

(6)

Maggie Thunder^v1⁵²

Age: 8| Weight: 8-7| J: Wayne Hassett⁽⁷⁾| T: G Hassett| OR: 47| CD

33/1

3-time C&D winner. Twenty-five runs since last win in 2021. Ran below form when eleventh of 14 in handicap at this course (6f, 25/1) 52 days ago. Visor on 1st time.

Form: 08806-0

Forecasts

Below Deck (11/2), Winemaker (7/1), Theriverrunsdeep (7/1), Samrogue (7/1), Sam's Xpress (8/1), Phil's Dream (8/1), Hero Of The Hour (17/2), Bonny Power (10/1), My Girl Sioux (12/1), Cuban Grey (18/1), Livingston Range (18/1), American In Paris (25/1), Maggie Thunder (33/1)

Plenty of these have met before and its BELOW DECK who makes most appeal returned to the minimum trip and with blinkers tried for just a second time. Bonny Power took a big step back in the right direction when third over C&D 6 weeks ago so Eddie Lynam's filly could give the selection most to think about, with Hero of The Hour and Samrogue another couple worth considering in an open-looking sprint to kick off proceedings.
