Kilta⁷⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-13| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR: 99

9/1

Latest effort at Carlisle wasn't particularly promising but he had previously shaped with encouragement at Hexham and Sedgefield. On a realistic mark for this handicap debut and improvement could be on the cards.

Samazul^t1⁴¹

1/1

Bumper winner here last season and bettered what he showed on first 2 hurdles starts when fifth in a big-field Newbury novice (16.3f, soft). Tongue strap enlisted for this handicap debut and another step forward is anticipated.

Arabescato^t1³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 96| D

13/2

Fairly useful handicapper at his best on the Flat, albeit he largely struggled last year. Still, he stepped up on his hurdles debut when fourth of 11 in a C&D novice (soft) starting out for this yard last month and may do better again now switched to a handicap.

Form: 4-4

We Got Your Back^h,t¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: J Kington| T: L Morgan| OR: 90

15/2

Produced by far his best effort yet when overhauled close home in this headgear combination on recent handicap bow over C&D. That wasn't a particularly strong race, though, and more will be needed if he's to go one better this time.

Joker Du Chenet^p1,t⁵²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Cobden| T: James Owen| OR: 86

11/4

Respectable efforts at best for Stuart Crawford but needs close attention in the betting on debut for a yard that is proving so adept at getting the best out of its recruits from rival yards. Sports first-time cheekpieces.

Forecasts

Samazul (1/1), Joker Du Chenet (11/4), Jumping Jupiter (5/1), Arabescato (13/2), We Got Your Back (15/2), Kilta (9/1)

The one who appeals most is SAMAZUL, who took a definite step in the right direction in a Newbury novice in January and he should have more to offer now venturing down the handicap route. Joker du Chenet is an intriguing candidate on debut for the shrewd James Owen yard and he is feared most ahead of Kilta and Arabescato.
