Arrives in good form, finishing runner-up in handicap hurdle at this course (19.4f, heavy) 11 days ago. Up to going one better from this sort of mark so he's certainly not discounted back over the larger obstacles.

Should have won at Sedgefield on Boxing Day, turning it in once hitting the front, but left a lesser effort behind when third of 8 in handicap chase at Catterick (15.7f, soft) 5 days ago. Come with obvious risks attached, so percentage call is to look elsewhere.
|
Made the perfect start sent chasing last season, winning his first two starts. However, he's lost his way this season and increasingly looks one to oppose despite his tumbling mark.
|
Has improved for the switch to chasing, getting off the mark at Ffos Las in October and following up at Plumpton (19.8f). Seemed unsuited by testing conditions back at former course in November, before likely to have gone close but for falling at the last at Sedgefield last time. Respected.

Pilgrims King (11/8), My Gift To You (7/4), Ideallko (11/4), Beat The Edge (7/2), Gambie Tiep (7/2), Okavango Delta (4/1), Walk In The Wild (9/2), King Of The Hill (8/1), Ring Pretender (11/1), Out For Justice (50/1)
A few in with a squeak but MY GIFT TO YOU has yet to run a bad race since joining James Owen, and having pulled clear with an improved rival at Southwell last month, he's fancied to regain the winning thread at the expense of Gambie Tiep, who possibly needed the run at Ffos Las recently and returns with his yard firing on all cylinders. Pilgrims King and Okavango Delta can fight out minor honours.
