Farm & Garden Machinery EBF Mares' Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:25 | Winning time: 5m 36.77s

Plenty Of Time^p,t⁵⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: Freddie Gingell⁽⁵⁾| T: S Hosie| OR: 122| D

6/1

Not the easiest of rides but was able to take advantage of a good opportunity to land a 4-runner handicap chase at Wincanton (20.2f, soft, 5/2) in December. More on her plate from revised mark here.

Form: 8-15P41

Ottoline²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-1| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 113

18/1

Imposing sort got off the mark in a Uttoxeter novice hurdle in December but proved a let down for the quick switch to fences in a 3-runner handicap there 25 days ago. Still should make a better chaser and she's not ruled out.

Form: 285-313

Gazette Bourgeoise^p,t²⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: J M Quinlan| T: B I Case| OR: 112

4/1

Scored twice over hurdles and, though yet to strike in this sphere, she was beaten only a nose on return from 8 months off at Ffos Las (21.5f) in December, idling run-in and collared late on. Bad mistake did for her at Newbury last time and she's still of interest with cheekpieces back on.

Form: 2355-27

Terresita¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: Harry Cobden| T: L Wadham| OR: 111| BF

3/1

Successful 3 times as a novice hurdler but went without a win last season. Promising second on return/chase debut at Huntingdon (19.9f) in January prior to a slightly underwhelming display back at that venue 2 weeks ago. Remains early days in this sphere at least.

Form: 7430-26

Malaita⁴⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Alex Edwards| T: Mrs M Rowley| OR: 110| BF| C| D

11/8

Won back-to-back handicap hurdles at Carlisle and Cheltenham last term and shaped well to make the frame on her first 2 outings over fences. Put a Cheltenham fall behind her when bumping into another well-handicapped sort over C&D last time and she's a player.

Form: 1-224F2

Jane Du Berlais^t²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-8| J: Brendan Powell| T: R Potter| OR: 106

25/1

Made her first completed start over hurdles a successful one at Lingfield in December 2022 but failed to complete on 3 of next 4 starts and jumping let her down on chase debut last month, falling 4 out. Others more persuasive.

Form: 13PP-PF

Fashion's Model⁷⁵⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 10-5| J: Sean Houlihan| T: Sheila Lewis| OR: 79

100/1

Winning pointer who offered a modicum of promise over hurdles during 2021/22 but ended that campaign out of sorts and good deal on her plate from long way out of the weights on belated return/chasing bow.

Form: 554957/

Non-Runners

Forecasts

Malaita (11/8), Terresita (3/1), Gazette Bourgeoise (4/1), Plenty Of Time (6/1), Presenting Nelly (10/1), Ottoline (18/1), Jane Du Berlais (25/1), Fashion's Model (100/1)

Having finished a good second on return at Ffos Las, GAZETTE BOURGEOISE shaped much better than the distance beaten suggests at Newbury subsequently (bad mistake 4 out) and she could be the way to go with cheekpieces refitted. Malaita and Plenty of Time head the dangers, with Terresita another not out of things.
