Superheroes Easter Family Day Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:00 | Winning time: 4m 47.23s

Get A Superstar³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Charlie Hammond| T: Dr R Newland| D

5/4

Newcastle bumper winner on second run for yard in December but amiss when backed making hurdling bow at Sedgefield 5 weeks ago (said to have an irregular heartbeat). Could yet do better if all is well.

Form: UF-421P

Happy County²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Bruce Lynn⁽³⁾| T: S G West

150/1

Little promise in Newcastle bumper/novice hurdle 11 months apart.

Form: 6-P

Professor Klump^p,t⁴⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 101

9/2

Just modest form at around 2m over hurdles so far, again not jumping too well when held in third in first-time cheekpieces at Ayr 7 weeks ago. Bred for further and Just Gino looks stronger for stable.

Form: 53-573

Road To Rosley^t³⁷⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Mr John Dixon⁽⁷⁾| T: J E Dixon| OR: 96

15/2

Fitted with a tongue tie shaped much better over hurdles over C&D when last seen a year ago. Might need this return, while he's bred for longer trips.

Form: 83/665-

Hey Mama Rock Me⁶⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Ryan Mania| T: D Bourke

100/1

Sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Notachance, out of a point winner. Well beaten in bumper here on debut in December.

Form: 7

Bodygroove^h¹³⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: C O'Farrell| T: Micky Hammond

20/1

Fair staying handicapper on Flat. Sold from Richard Spencer 12,000 gns in October. Related to fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Nucky Thompson, so could have a future in this sphere and certainly not over-faced for debut.

Form:

Copernic Du Mazet^h⁷⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Toby Wynne⁽³⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

2/1

Hooded, given a considerate introduction when third of 6 in maiden hurdle at Ayr (2m, soft) back in December, staying on gradually. Rates a likely improver for good stable.

Form: 3

Non-Runners

Just Gino⁶⁶

Weight: 11-7| Age: 5

T: D McCain Jnr J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Get A Superstar (5/4), Copernic Du Mazet (2/1), Just Gino (5/2), Professor Klump (9/2), Road To Rosley (15/2), Bodygroove (20/1), Hey Mama Rock Me (100/1), Happy County (150/1)

JUST GINO should have come on plenty for his first taste of hurdling at Bangor 9 weeks ago and looks sure to go well. Copernic du Mazet might be the danger, with Professor Klump, a stablemate of the selection, and Bodygroove also in the frame.
