Linda Jones Memorial Handicap Chase

Off time: 14:40 | Winning time: 4m 27.50s

Galice Macalo^t²⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 12-2| J: Mr Peter Summers⁽⁷⁾| T: Mrs J Williams| OR: 122

9/4

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who went with far more zest as she belatedly opened her account in mares' handicap chase at Leicester (15.9f, heavy) 4 weeks ago, making all and clear from 2 out. This tougher but not ruled out if arriving in a similar groove.

You Say Nothing⁴²

Age: 9| Weight: 11-7| J: Jack Tudor| T: Christian Williams| OR: 113| CD

4/1

C&D winner. Lightly campaigned last year but managed to score twice, latterly at Ffos Las (2m) in May. Fell on return in November but showed no ill effects when going down fighting at Chepstow (2m) a month later, finishing tired. Respected having been given 6-week break ahead of this.

Form: 515-1F2

Harel Du Marais^t²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M Walford| OR: 110

9/2

Still looking for his first win but it's been fairly promising for new yard this winter, not disgraced by any means (also jumped well) when fourth on chase debut at Leicester (15.9f) 4 weeks ago. Tongue strap goes back on and likely he can do better in this sphere.

Leading Force³³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson| OR: 110

11/4

Irish point winner who finished runner-up 4 times over hurdles last season and, back from 9 months off, he ran up to best when third in that sphere at Musselburgh (19.8f) 33 days ago. A winning pointer previously, he's worth a look now switched to larger obstacles.

Form: 22224-3

Duo D'Enfer^p1,t²⁴

Age: 11| Weight: 11-4| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽³⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 110| C

13/2

Veteran who built on previous promise following switch to this yard when successful here (19.3f) in December. No match for another in-form pair when third at Kelso (21.6f) 24 days ago and certainly no forlorn hope in new headgear.

Form: 53-6313

Forecasts

Galice Macalo (9/4), Leading Force (11/4), You Say Nothing (4/1), Harel Du Marais (9/2), Duo D'Enfer (13/2), Jeu Sacre (12/1)

Claims can be made for most here, including previous C&D winner YOU SAY NOTHING, He ran a cracker when runner-up at Chepstow over Christmas and, given some time to get over those exertions, it would come as no surprise to see him firmly in the mix with his yard boasting a particularly good record here. Easy Leicester winner Galice Macalo and Harel du Marais head up the dangers.
