Upped his game significantly when winning 11-runner novice hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft) on return. Running well (probably would have finished second) when falling 2 out at Wincanton next time and remains with potential. Big shout.

Impressive winner on sole start in points and successful start to hurdle career at Huntingdon (19.5f) on return in October. Disappointing on the day next time at Catterick although the 3 in front of him there all won next time. Likely type.

Timeform
Promise all 3 starts in bumpers and positive start over hurdles when second in a Wetherby novice (19.7f) in October, inexperience getting the better of him late on. Too lit up in blinkers (quickly removed) in deeper contest at Ascot next time and capable of better for in-form yard if settling down.

Modest handicapper on Flat but went with no encouragement when well held on last month's hurdling debut here.

Finished third on his sole outing in Irish points. Well held on hurdles debut at Kempton (21f) 9 weeks ago, looking one for later on.

£60,000 buy, placed both starts in Irish points. Had a wind op and has shaped well enough in Market Rasen bumper and 17.7f Fontwell novice hurdle. Might need more time.

Timeform
Little impact in various company.
|
Timeform
Well held in Exeter bumper and 21.6f novice hurdle (tongue tied).
|
Timeform
Big price and well beaten in Lingfield AW bumper on debut last month.
|
Timeform
Bought for plenty of money after finishing second in an Irish point. No impact in Exeter novice hunter chase in March 2022 and stiff task in Cheltenham Grade 2 hurdle 20 months on.
|
Timeform
No impact in bumpers/2 races over hurdles.

Forecasts

Canty Bay (13/8), Bob Bob Ricard (15/8), Doc McCoy (3/1), Just One Surf (12/1), Defi Nonantais (16/1), Supreme Commander (20/1), Vintage Icon (50/1), Rum Cove (50/1), Captain Howse (50/1), D'ambonnay (100/1), Simon The Seagull (100/1), No More No (100/1)

Verdict

This looks between the top three on the card, with CANTY BAY given another chance to build on his Taunton win in the hope his Wincanton fall hasn't left a mark. Doc McCoy's Catterick fourth is looking a bit better now with the three in front of him there all winning since and he's feared ahead of Bob Bob Ricard.
