Came good at the first time of asking for his new stable after wind op in 5.1f handicap 10 days ago. First-time headgear combination worn on that occasion retained. Should be very competitive under a penalty but the draw could have been kinder.

Forecasts

Better (11/4), Invincible Speed (10/3), Appellant (10/3), Graceful Mary (5/1), Moyola (13/2), Vice Captain (7/1), Zola Power (15/2), Professor Tickle (10/1), King Street (12/1), Moe's Legacy (16/1), East Bank (33/1), Heed The Call (50/1)

Verdict

There could be plenty more to come from George Boughey's BETTER who is selected to make light of a double-figure rise for last month's C&D success. The unexposed James Tate handicap newcomer Invincible Speed is a potentially dangerous opponent, while the draw could have been kinder to Zola Power but he's one who could easily have more to offer for new trainer Mick Appleby.
