Shotgun Jack³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Philip Donovan⁽⁵⁾| T: P G Kelly| OR: 111| C| D

9/2

2 wins from 6 runs this season. 15/2, career best when winning 14-runner handicap hurdle at this course (21f, heavy) 37 days ago, well on top finish. Assessor applies further pressure but well worth considering in hat-trick bid back up at 3m.

Form: 000511

Champagnesocialist^p¹⁸⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: B W Harvey| T: J C McConnell| OR: 106

25/1

Bumper winner who was unimpressive and nowhere near her best when landing 10-runner novice hurdle (8/11) at Hexham (20.1f, good) in June, staying on to lead run-in. Cheekpieces worn then on again for this handicap debut and the betting may prove a useful guide.

Form: 2223-21

16/1, first run since leaving Sandy Forster when sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (21f, soft) 30 days ago, in contention before home turn and not quicken. Return to this longer trip rates a plus.

Forecasts

Ishan (9/2), One Big Bang (9/2), Shotgun Jack (9/2), Mont Saint Vincent (5/1), Ballycashin (5/1), Made In The Woods (11/1), He's Home Again (12/1), Sir Bob (16/1), Ballyadam Destiny (20/1), Champagnesocialist (25/1), Glorious Singer (33/1), Lissen To The Lady (40/1), Carrig Carol (40/1), Fill The Tank (50/1)

MONT SAINT VINCENT pulled a long way clear with an improving sort when runner-up in a C&D handicap in October and a repeat should see him firmly in the mix once more from a 5 lb higher mark. The rapidly improving Shotgun Jack in search of the hat-trick rates the lead threat, ahead of Ishan. He's Home Again also rates the type to do better.
