7/1, first run since leaving Richard Spencer when creditable second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 14 days ago. Likely to make a bold bid to go one better here, provided he takes to this surface.

Below form eleventh of 21 in handicap (28/1) at Navan (5f, good to soft). Off 108 days and she needs close attention in the betting on debut for new yard. Tapeta debut (form figures on polytrack in Ireland read 422312). Hood applied.

Career best when winning 8-runner handicap (8/1) at this C&D 36 days ago by 1½ lengths from Let's Go Hugo, driven out. 5 lb rise tolerable and likely to be in the thick of things.

Forecasts

Not Too Real Bad (7/4), Dark Side Prince (10/3), Maharajas Express (7/2), Sacred Jewel (8/1), Josies Kid (12/1), Sixcor (12/1), Kitaab (12/1), Let's Go Hugo (16/1), Just That Lord (16/1), Araifjan (22/1), Granny B (125/1)

Verdict

MAHARAJAS EXPRESS looked more straightforward than he often did for his old yard when hitting the crossbar at Lingfield a fortnight ago and is taken to go one better here. Irish import Not Too Real Bad is now 9 lb below the mark off which she landed a Cork handicap in May and it will look significant if the market speaks in her favour starting out for the Michael Appleby yard. She is second choice ahead of Sixcor, who got the better of Let's Go Hugo over C&D last month.
