Runner-up on his sole outing in Irish points in April 2022 and went one better in novice at Warwick on his hurdles debut last month, asserting final 100 yds. Enters calculations with improvement to come.

Down the field only start in bumpers but, after 8 months off, shaped better sent hurdling when fourth of 8 in C&D novice in October. However, well held at Fontwell next time so needs to leave his latest effort behind.

Having run to a fair level in bumpers, tailed off on his hurdles debut but showed a bit more when sixth in maiden at Ludlow 3 weeks ago, making late headway albeit finishing well beaten. Still has plenty to find.

Clear when falling at the last in his sole point. Faded after racing keenly in a Warwick bumper in the spring for Mel Rowley and shaped as if better for the run on yard/hurdles debut at Kempton (21f) in October. This run should reveal more.

Fair winner on the Flat at up to 12f for Gay Kelleway. However, made a discouraging start over hurdles for his new yard when beaten a long way at Sandown in November. Best watched.

Ready winner of a Fontwell bumper in February and ran to a fair level on his first start over hurdles when runner-up in novice at this course (20.5f) last month, despite having not always been fluent. Entitled to progress so he looks to hold leading claims.

Saint Des Saints gelding. Brother to fair hurdler Inferno Sacree, and half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Emir Sacree, stays 3m. Dam unraced half-sister to dual Champion Chase winner Sprinter Sacre. May just be better for this first outing.

Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 11.5f) and showed plenty on his hurdling debut when second of 4 in introductory event at Ascot last month. Should have more to offer given his ability on the level, so he's not taken lightly.

Fair maiden on Flat in France and showed promise making his stable debut on the level in October. Much better than the result sent hurdling at Fontwell (17.7f) last time, not getting home faced with testing conditions, so he remains capable of better.

£40,000 3-y-o, Black Sam Bellamy gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including prolific French hurdle/chase winner up to 19f Athena du Berlais and fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Ladybank. Dam, 2¼m hurdle winner, half-sister to smart hurdler/high-class chaser Mr Mole.

Winner of his second outing in points and made a successful start under Rules in Newton Abbot bumper in October. Found it tougher in listed race at Cheltenham next time (only run for Syd Hosie), but he's one to note on his stable/hurdling debut.

Mid-field at best in a trio of bumpers and has failed to complete both starts over hurdles so far, though was making steady headway before falling 3 out at Lingfeld 18 days ago. Faces a difficult ask, though.

GOODWIN shaped better than the distance beaten suggests when second at this course on his hurdles debut, not fluent at the last 2 obstacles, so he is entitled to do better with that experience behind him. He can see off the challenge of Junkanoo, who shaped promisingly sent hurdling last month, with El Saviour also considered.
