Limited encouragement in bumpers and is likely to be brought along gradually now going hurdling.

Out of a Flat winner but pulled up in a juvenile hurdle at Wetherby on debut 9 months ago. Not seen since and hard to fancy. Has had a wind op/tongue tie goes on.

Successful on last of 3 starts in Irish points and has offered something to work on both starts under Rules, latterly when fourth in a novice hurdle at Ayr a month ago. The most solid option.

Winning Irish pointer with a good pedigree and showed much more than on hurdles debut when sixth at Doncaster 3 weeks ago. Capable of better, particularly when his stamina is drawn out.

Went with enthusiasm when third in a bumper here on debut in April but pulled too hard on return (also at Kelso) a month ago, Makes hurdles debut for in-form yard.
|
Timeform
No show in bumper and novice hurdle at the end of 2021 and sent off at 125/1 when unseating at the first on his belated return to action at Carlisle in October.

£15,000 4-y-o, Youmzain gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler Ratfacemcdougall. Runner-up completed start in Irish points and bright start over hurdles when 5 lengths third of 10 in a C&D maiden, without being unduly punished in October. Open to improvement.
|
Timeform
Showed a bit when 17 lengths sixth of 8 starting out in a C&D maiden in October. Failed to match that form at Hexham a month later.

Timeform
Fourth sole outing in Irish points and given a considerate introduction when fifth of 12 in a bumper at Carlisle ago. Much respected now going over hurdles for powerful owner.

Shaped with some encouragement in a brace of bumpers and was given a considerate introduction to hurdling at Hexham and Ayr. Looks one for low-grade handicaps further down the line.

Forecasts

Dream Boy (3/1), Valleyview Tommy (7/2), Wal Buck's (4/1), Prontoanita (6/1), Northern Cardinal (8/1), Getaway Glory (8/1), Coco Loco (14/1), Wainwright (25/1), Bowler Jack (25/1), Scalloway Bay (50/1)

Verdict

DREAM BOY's fourth-placed finish on hurdles debut at Ayr a month ago looks reasonable form in the context of this race so he could be the way to go. Valleyview Tommy seems sure to build on his effort over C&D and is a big threat, while market support for Wal Buck's would have to be noted.
