Fairly useful maiden hurdler/chaser in France, but he was beating a retreat when falling 3 out back from a 16-month absence for new yard at Wetherby.

Regressive on the Flat, but showed a bit in a couple of maiden hurdles for Colm Murphy in Ireland. Not without each-way hope on debut for new yard.

Failed to threaten both starts between the flags during the spring and probably best watched on Rules debut.

Fair Flat winner who performed to a similar level when runner-up on his first start in this sphere over C&D (good to soft) last month. Probably won't need to improve much on that in order to go one better.

Fair performer on the Flat (stays 1½m), latest success registered in a Wolverhampton handicap in January. Sold from Archie Watson's yard for just 5,000 gns during the spring and opposable on this hurdles debut.

Made the frame both starts in bumpers last season, showing enough to suggest that he could be competitive in a race of this nature if taking to hurdles at the first attempt. Shortlisted.

Placed in an Irish point, but made a low-key start over hurdles at Uttoxeter last month and he's probably more of a long-term project.

Fetched €62,000 as a 3-y-o and placed on the second of his 2 starts between the flags. Has undergone a wind op ahead of this Rules debut and it'll be interesting to see what the market has to say.

Haafhd colt. Half-brother to useful hurdler/fair chaser Petrastar. Dam, ungenuine 2½m hurdle winner. Doesn't appeal as a probable first-time-out winner on paper.

No show both starts in this sphere in 2020 and, having offered little in a handful of appearances on the Flat last year, he's readily passed over starting out for new yard here following 11 months off.

Third on debut in a Wincanton bumper in January 2022. Failed to build on that in a first-time tongue strap (retained) back from 11 months off at Chepstow last December, but he's nevertheless worth a second look now sent hurdling for new yard.

Fair handicapper on the Flat, winner of a 7.5f handicap at Beverley in May and good second at Wetherby when last seen the following month. Stamina has to be taken on trust now switched to hurdles.

It was probably a stronger race than this in which LANGTON WOLD was runner-up on hurdles debut over C&D and he is the clear pick. Professor Klump showed ability between the flags and could be the one to make a race of it with the selection, while Mister Moodles and Thank You Blue can do battle for minor honours.
