Blue Lemons36

Struck on soft-ground Leicester debut and improved when close third in a 1m course novice (heavy) 10 days later. That form has been boosted and he should have a big say in this.

Change For Good30
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Jim Crowley| T: D M Simcock| OR:  94| D
Blue Point colt who won his 7f Epsom debut (good to firm) last month. Stepped up on that when 5 lengths eighth in 7f Newmarket Group 3 a fortnight later, although the reopposing Son of Man was ahead in seventh. Faces much more testing ground than previously.

Finbar Furey23
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: L Morris| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam| OR:  89| D
Has improved with each start, posting a near useful performance when scoring comfortably in novice company at Salisbury (7f, heavy) 23 days ago. Sold out of Clive Cox's yard for 180,000 gns earlier in the week. Capable of better.

Orne14
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: R Havlin| T: J & T Gosden| OR:  91| D
Made a winning debut on AW at Kempton last month and possibly had his stamina stretched when 10½ lengths fourth of 7 to Ancient Wisdom in 1m Newmarket Group 3 since. Remains open to progress back at 7f.

Son Of Man30
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: David Egan| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam| OR:  94
Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in 10-runner novice at Yarmouth (6f, good to soft) last month. A step up to Group 3 company proved beyond him at Newmarket only 9 days later but it was a quick turnaround. Retains potential.

Built on promising Leiecester debut when winning quite comfortably at Yarmouth (7f, soft) 12 days ago. Likely there's more to come.

Ten Bob Tony23
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Saffie Osborne| T: E Walker| OR:  84| D
Well suited by a change of tactics and more testing ground when much improved to make all in novice company at Salisbury (7f, heavy) 23 days ago. More will be needed here but he'll be at home under these conditions.

Witness Stand14
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Tom Marquand| T: Tom Clover| OR:  97| D
Winning debut at Chester (7f) in June and better form in defeat since, notably when a close second in a 7f Newmarket nursery (good to soft) a fortnight ago. A repeat of that form is unlikely to see him far away.

Forecasts

Blue Lemons (3/1), Witness Stand (7/2), Son Of Man (9/2), Change For Good (7/1), Orne (8/1), Ten Bob Tony (10/1), Finbar Furey (10/1), Telemark (10/1)

Verdict

BLUE LEMONS failed only narrowly to concede 6 lb to one who acquitted himself well in a Group 1 in France last weekend in the Haynes Hanson Clark here last month and can strike for a yard no stranger to success in this over the years. Witness Stand produced a really useful effort under a big weight in a Newmarket nursery recently and is second choice ahead of Finbar Furey, who bids to give connections a quick return on the 180,000 gns they parted with to acquire him on Tuesday.
