Fair maiden hurdler who ran respectably when sixth of 14 in 18f maiden at Ballinrobe (good to soft) on final run for W. J. Burke 43 days ago. Cheekpieces retained on first start for fledgling trainer and needs considering.

Looked a useful prospect in bumpers, winning at Market Rasen on debut before an excellent second in Cheltenham listed event. A rather mixed bag over hurdles since but sets a clear standard on the pick of his form nonetheless.

Poor form at best in bumpers so looks up against it making hurdling debut after 13 months off.

Made the frame on his first 3 starts in bumpers, including in a listed contest at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Shaped better than the distance beaten suugests sent hurdling when third at Worcester (2m) last month and entitled to do better over this longer trip.

Mahler filly. Dam, unraced, closely related to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Gus Macrae and fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Victory Mill. Wears hood. Market for clues.

Forecasts

School Days Over (5/6), Jimmy Boy (7/4), Mr Mackay (4/1), Tampico Rocco (125/1), No Post On Sundays (150/1), Book Of Verse (250/1)

Verdict

SCHOOL DAYS OVER proved expensive to follow over hurdles last season, but he sets a clear standard on the pick of his form and is worth one more chance on his return to action. Mr Mackay can improve on his opening effort in this sphere at Worcester last month and is feared most ahead of Jimmy Boy, who sets out for the upwardly-mobile stable of James Owen.
