Cases can be made for pretty much all of these but ALPHA FEMALE's claims are the most persuasive on the back of an improved recent effort at Kempton where she was a clear second off this mark. She is due to go up 4 lb for that and gets the nod ahead of Golden Melody, who has posted several creditable efforts in defeat this year and shaped as though the return to this trip would be in her favour when fourth over a mile at Ripon last time.
