Buck Of Maine³⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-11| J: Ben Jones| T: P & M Bowen

From a good French family and showed promise when third of 6 in a Plumpton bumper on debut. Disappointing bearing in mind that promise at Newton Abbot and was one of the first beaten sent hurdling at Market Rasen last month. Plenty to prove.

Strong in the betting and made a winning debut with a bit to spare in a Warwick bumper in May. Too free under a penalty at Stratford 8 weeks later and now goes hurdling in a first-time tongue strap.

Forecasts

Winterwatch (2/5), Gaius (9/4), The Derry Girl (3/1), Jeudidee (16/1), Buck Of Maine (33/1), Record Art (80/1), Power Generation (150/1)

WINTERWATCH ran badly on his most recent Flat outing, but he sets a clear standard back over hurdles and won't get many better opportunities to open his account in this sphere. Recent C&D winner The Derry Girl is fancied to prove the main threat.
