Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 4/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 35 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time and he's on a good mark should the headgear have the desired effect.

Improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap (9/4) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 21 days ago, running on. Up 8 lb and he's not a frequent winner but he's a key player nonetheless.

Course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Sixth of 9 in handicap (6/1) at Catterick (5f, good) 27 days ago. Since undergone a wind op and would have a serious chance off this reduced mark were that procedure to trigger a return to form.

9/2, career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 41 days ago. 4 lb rise fair enough and he will be a danger to all if able to reproduce that level of form back on the AW with cheekpieces refitted.

Forecasts

Wee Fat Mac (2/1), Golden Rainbow (10/3), Yaahobby (9/2), Ben Macdui (5/1), Rainbow Rain (10/1), Dalton Lane (10/1), Stallone (10/1), Captain Dandy (12/1), Tathmeen (18/1), Jarvis (18/1), Azucena (25/1), Genevieve (25/1), Annie Maher (28/1), Chattel Village (50/1)

Verdict

The one who appeals most is RAINBOW RAIN, who returned to form when getting the better of dual subsequent winner Quercus at Thirsk and, all things considered, a 4 lb rise looks fair. It's no great concern that he failed to fire both previous attempts on the all-weather, as he has evidently improved since. Fellow last-time-out winner Yaahobby and Golden Rainbow rate the main dangers, though Jarvis is also considered off a potentially handy mark and Ben Macdui is another with possibilities.
