Doubled his tally over hurdles at Worcester last summer. This summer's efforts no more than respectable (last of 4 over fences latest) but is starting to look well handicapped.

Bagged a pair of small-field handicap hurdle wins last autumn. Fair fourth at Newton Abbot last time but he isn't one for maximum faith (virtually refused to race on penultimate start.

Won back to back at Uttoxeter last autumn and may have needed her first outing since when bidding for the hat-trick here 15 days ago. Patrick Wadge takes 5 lb off. No surprise were she to go well.

Chase winner last winter but offered little back hurdling on his recent Uttoxeter reappearance. Hard to be confident after that.

Fair stayer on the Flat. Yet to better modest form over hurdles but he shaped better than the result when sixth of 11 over 20.5f at Southwell 15 days ago, staying on from too far back. This trip could suit. Considered.

Lightly-raced mare who improved markedly when scoring twice over 3m at Hexham in June. Turned out again quickly and shaped much better than the result under an overly-positive ride when sixth at Cartmel early last month. Could still be on a good mark.

Didn't show much in bumpers and hasn't fared much better over hurdles, pulling up in both handicaps. First outing for 8 months.

Forecasts

Classic Lady (11/4), Moon King (10/3), Due Reward (10/3), Pardon Me (7/2), Fabuleux Du Clos (4/1), Presenting Yeats (6/1), Midnight Glance (7/1), Riggsby (8/1), High Yield (28/1)

Verdict

CLASSIC LADY was a lot better than the result at Cartmel and can show she's still ahead of the handicapper having been freshened up since. Riggsby caught the eye a bit at Southwell last time and is interesting now stepping up in trip given how well he stays on the Flat. Pardon Me could be all the sharper with a recent run under her belt and also makes the shortlist.
