St Austell Brewery Novices' Handicap Chase

Off time: 20:40 | Winning time: 6m 44.10s

Loved Out¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 95

9/2

Just the one win from 19 starts over hurdles but he was placed on 10 occasions (including both completed starts at this course). On a fair mark for this chase debut and should have a part to play if his jumping passes the test.

9/2

Fair winner at 3¼m over hurdles for Ben Pauling and posted some respectable efforts in hunter chases for this yard last spring. More miss than hit since, though, and the percentage call is to look elsewhere in search of the likely winner.

Form: 6P26-43

Seymour Promise^b1,t²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Freddie Gingell⁽⁷⁾| T: J Tizzard| OR: 91

7/2

Runner-up first 3 starts in handicap hurdles at up to 3¼m since returning from a 15-month absence in January. Form has dipped badly the last twice, though, including back in this sphere at the end of May, and connections now reach for blinkers.

Form: 0/2227-5

Junior Massini^p¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: Jack Tudor| T: Sheila Lewis| OR: 81

1/1

Not entirely straightforward and modest over hurdles but has looked a different proposition switched to fences for new yard, winning 2 of his 3 starts in this sphere. Largely jumped well when making all at Bangor (3m, good) recently, for which a 4 lb rise is fair enough.

Forecasts

Junior Massini (1/1), Seymour Promise (7/2), Tel'art (9/2), Loved Out (9/2), Gamalou D'alene (9/2)

Though a winner of just one of his 19 hurdles starts, LOVED OUT has proven to be largely consistent in that sphere and may well be equal to this task, provided of course that he makes a good shape over fences at the first attempt. Junior Massini is probably not one to lump on at what will likely be a skinny price but is the obvious danger.
