Partex 75th Anniversary Mares' Novices' Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 19:53 | Winning time: 3m 51.70s

Fabreze³⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Sheila Lewis| OR: 89

12/1

Poor form in 4 hurdle starts in Ireland in 2021/22 but did manage a point win there this spring. Worth a precautionary market check on her debut for new connections.

Form: 000/F1-6

Luna Dora^t²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: Benjamin Poste| T: T Symonds| OR: 82| BF| D

4/1

Made light of a five-month absence and a bad mistake at halfway when readily landing 8-runner handicap hurdle at Fakenham (2m, soft) in April. Effort flattened out when fifth over 19.5f at Bangor latest and this return to 2m could help.

Form: 72217-5

Melvich Bay¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: C O'Farrell| T: D Brooke| OR: 80

18/5

Looks to be getting her act together now, finishing second of 5 in a 2m Kelso novice 18 days ago. That was an uncompetitive race of its type but a mark of 80 could still underestimate her back in a handicap.

Form: 44/06-52

Well Done Dani^t²³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: Toby Wynne⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 80| D

9/4

Placed 3 times during the autumn and improved when opening her account on the back of a break/wind op at Southwell (2m, good to soft) in April. Creditable third of 10 at Huntingdon (2m, good to firm) since. Likely to be in the shake-up.

Form: 323P1-3

Only Fools^h,t¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Philip Armson⁽³⁾| T: D Pipe| OR: 82

9/4

Fair Flat winner in France. Better signs over hurdles since handicapping, finishing second of 13 over 18.5f at Newton Abbot last time. Considered.

Form: 565-52

Autumn Blaze²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-2| J: Cillin Leonard⁽⁵⁾| T: S-J Davies| OR: 69WS

40/1

No promise in 2 bumpers and 3 hurdles. Has a basement mark to work with now handicapping after wind op but still hard to make a case for.

Form: P60-04

Non-Runners

Kalnoo⁴⁰

Weight: 12-0| Age: 6

T: A Ralph J: C Gethings

Vision Of Hope⁶

Forecasts

Well Done Dani (9/4), Only Fools (9/4), Vision Of Hope (5/2), Melvich Bay (18/5), Luna Dora (4/1), Kalnoo (10/1), Fabreze (12/1), Autumn Blaze (40/1)

Although it wasn't a strong novice MELVICH BAY was second in last time it's rare one who was beaten 4½ lengths in a race of that nature gets the opportunity to run in a handicap off a lowly mark of 80 on their next start so she's the suggestion. Only Fools and Well Done Dani can fight it out for minor honours.
