Rather hit-and-miss but hard to knock his strike rate over fences, making it 5-15 in this sphere when scoring at Newton Abbot (25.8f, good) on Wednesday. Still, will need a personal best in order to get the better of Captain Tommy and Coup de Pinceau.

Dual winner for Nicky Henderson but hasn't show much in 3 starts for present connections and hopes here pinned on the addition of blinkers helping to spark a return to form.

Winner of 4m Cheltenham hunter chase last April but form went the wrong way subsequently in 2022/23. However, off this career-low mark he ran better than for a while when runner-up in handicap at Ffos Las (3½m, good to firm) 12 days ago and needs considering with Harry Cobden booked.

Capitalised on a freefalling mark in no uncertain terms when running away with a 3m handicap chase at Bangor (good) a fortnight ago. Needs to prove that he can back that up but will prove hard to beat if able to do so.

Forecasts
Tommie Beau (5/4), Captain Tommy (2/1), Coup De Pinceau (7/2), Valsheda (11/1)
If CAPTAIN TOMMY is in the same form as he was at Bangor a couple of weeks ago he will take some stopping. Indeed, the 9-y-o remains feasibly treated following a 7 lb rise for that wide-margin success. Coup de Pinceau returned to form when hitting the crossbar at Ffos Las recently and is feared most ahead of Tommie Beau, who will do well to defy a 7 lb penalty for Wednesday's Newton Abbot success.
