Promise sole bumper start in Ireland and made a successful hurdles debut for new yard at Uttoxeter last summer. Runner-up both subsequent appearances, including when upped to 20.7f for recent handicap bow at Huntingdon (soft), and this stiffer test could be just what he needs.

Won 4 handicaps over fences (at up to 24.3f) for Philip Hobbs in 2021. However, he hasn't shown much spark in a couple of runs for new connections since returning form over a year off last month and the first-time visor will need to help trigger a revival if he's to make an impact here.

Seemingly benefited from the fitting of cheekpieces, step up to 3m and switch to handicap company when scoring in good style at Ludlow (good) recently. It's easy enough to pick holes in that form but leading claims under a penalty nonetheless.
|
Stepped up on chase debut third when getting on top close home upped to 23f at Worcester (good to soft) 11 months ago. Absent since but he's unexposed as a stayer and will be a threat under Harry Cobden back hurdling if fit enough to do himself justice.

Maiden hurdle winner in Ireland in March 2021 and scored at second attempt for this yard/over fences at Southwell in December of that year. Winless since, however, and while he hasn't fared badly back in this sphere the last twice and has been given a chance by the handicapper, others look stronger.
|
Resumed winning ways back in headgear in 11-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft) in March. Hard to draw any firm conclusions from subsequent Haydock effort (unseated at the seventh) but his rather up-and-down profile tempers enthusiasm.
|
Still looking for first success but much better effort for this stable when fifth at Ludlow (21.2f, good to soft) last month, leaving the strong impression that she's worth another try at this trip. Not discounted.

Forecasts
Scrum Diddly (7/4), Halligator (11/4), Ahead Of The Field (11/2), The Boola Boss (6/1), Braganza Bay (15/2), Chinook (11/1), Ebony Gale (40/1)
HALLIGATOR has been raised 3 lb for his handicap debut second at Huntingdon but that was an encouraging effort, and one which suggests that this new trip could be the catalyst for improvement. Kim Bailey's representative is marginally preferred to Scrum Diddly, who did the job well on his first run in a handicap at Ludlow and is bound to prove popular under a penalty here. Chinook should be on the premises if able to build on her latest effort and the reappearing The Boola Boss also has claims.
