Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Rossa Ryan| T: R M Beckett| BF

10/3

Showed a fair level of ability when placed twice on Wolverhampton's AW at the end of 2022 but he doesn't look to have quite the same potential as a couple of others in this line-up.

22/1

£8,000 Holy Roman Emperor gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including smart winner up to 2¼m Rajinsky and 1¼m winner Bahkit. Dam maiden (barely stayed 7f). Will need to be useful to make a winning debut here.

Torito¹⁷³

1/4

Kingman half-brother to connections' very smart 1¼m-1½m winner Journey and a couple of other smart performers. Couldn't justify favouritism in a 1m Newbury novice on his debut last autumn but shaped with plenty of promise in third and rates a useful prospect.

Forecasts

Torito (1/4), Exoplanet (13/8), Overactive (10/3), Playactor (10/1), Sir Raj (22/1), Aussi Mandate (25/1)

A small field but an interesting opener all the same. The very well-bred TORITO shaped encouragingly when third on his debut at Newbury last autumn and is selected to make the most of the weight he receives from previous winner Exoplanet.
