5/2

Bumper/hurdles winner who stepped up on his chase debut when landing a 5-runner Huntingdon handicap (2½m) by 4 lengths from William Cody in February, despite not travelling well for much of the race. Should be in the mix again from 3 lb higher.

Hiway One O Three⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR: 109| BF| C

9/4

Rattled off a quick hat-trick over hurdles last spring. Came good at the third time of asking over fences when pulling 14 lengths clear at Market Rasen in February. Lacked a bit of zip a week later at Leicester (20.1f, good) but can regain the winning thread upped in trip.

Form: 11-4312

Uallrightharry^p²²

Age: 11| Weight: 11-4| J: Brendan Powell| T: K Jewell| OR: 103| CD

3/1

Runner-up 4 times last season and got his head in front for the first time since October 2019 when scoring in decisive fashion over C&D in December. Creditable third at Kempton (24f, heavy) just over 3 weeks ago but likely to find a couple too strong here.

Form: P-P5143

Pawpaw^p¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Caoilin Quinn⁽⁵⁾| T: D G Bridgwater| OR: 101

10/3

Winning hurdler who improved for a change of headgear to get off the mark in this sphere at Hereford (20.9f) 16 days ago, suited by the way things developed under a patient ride. Cheekpieces surprisingly back on and he may well prove vulnerable from this higher mark.

Forecasts

Hiway One O Three (9/4), Northern Poet (5/2), Uallrightharry (3/1), Pawpaw (10/3)

HIWAY ONE O THREE came good at the third time of asking over fences at Market Rasen in February, and having lacked a bit of zip under a penalty at Leicester a week later, he's fancied to regain the winning thread stepped significantly up in distance. The main danger could be Northern Poet, who ultimately justified support but was never travelling well when scoring at Huntingdon last time. Pawpaw can fill out third spot.
