Lope De Vega colt who is bred to be useful and may have made a winning start granted better luck-in-running when fifth in 12-runner Newcastle maiden (10f) in November. Looks sure to progress and very much in the mix.

Well-bred sort who took a small step forward from his debut effort in December when 5 lengths third in 6-runner Newcastle maiden (10.2f) 5 weeks ago, weakening final 1f. Remains open to improvement but handicaps could be more his bag.

Cracksman filly who was easy to back but offered something to work on when close-up third in 10-runner Chelmsford novice (1m) 5 weeks ago. Bred to be suited by 1¼m+ and she should do better.

Well held on debut over 7f here in February but shaped with much more encouragement when fourth in 9-runner Chelmsford novice (10f) 26 days ago, running on late. This looks a warm enough race though and handicaps will be more her bag.

BANDERAS shaped with abundant promise without being seen to anything like best effect when fifth in a Newcastle maiden late last year and with progress anticipated, he earns the vote to build on that and come out on top. Sweet William, twice a runner-up in novice events last year, can do better again this term and is feared along with Al Asmakh. Newcomer Allo Al Khawaneej demands a market check.
