Made the perfect start sent chasing for new yard, winning Lingfield handicaps at up to 20f in November. However, he's folded tamely on both subsequent starts 12 weeks apart so that leaves him with a bit to prove suddenly.

Successful sole start between the flags and placed twice from 4 starts in maiden hurdles last term. Pulled up both starts switched to fences this season, though, so percentage call is probably to look elsewhere.

Placed in points/novice hurdles and left with a lot to do under an exaggerated waiting ride when third at Ludlow (23.8f, good to soft) 4 weeks ago. First-time cheekpieces applied and given a major chance by the handicapper, he's one to look out for.

Well held in bumpers and little solid form over hurdles. Fared no better sent chasing after 10 weeks off earlier this month so has plenty to prove at present. Blinkers/tongue tie go on.

Runner-up sole start in Irish points and has upped his game since switched to chasing, scoring at Uttoxeter before a solid showing when runner-up at Huntingdon on Boxing Day. Respectable third at Market Rasen earlier this month and should be in the mix again.

Won a Leicester claimer for Milton Harris last winter. Placed twice later in that campaign but has offered little in 4 outings this term (in first-time blinkers latest). Had a breathing op since and needs this switch to chasing to spark a revival.

Poor maiden who came in a remote last of 3 at Leicester last month and pulled up on both starts since. Easy to look elsewhere.

Of little account nowadays and again easy enough to look elsewhere operating from out of the weights after 9 months off.

Forecasts

Boys Of Wexford (7/4), Jack Doyen (11/4), Walk In The Wild (4/1), Blackcauseway (9/2), Conceal (8/1), Phil The Sock (17/2), Checkitsme (25/1), Nyoufsea (125/1), Dun Bay Creek (125/1)

Verdict

JACK DOYEN was unable to land a blow under exaggerated waiting tactics when third at Ludlow 4 weeks ago but, having been dropped 4 lb on the back of that effort and with first-time cheekpieces applied, Ben Case's 7-y-o gets the nod to open his account. Boys of Wexford has made a solid start to chasing so he's fancied to give the selection most to think about, ahead of Conceal.
