Fair Flat winner for Andrew Balding who bagged 2m handicaps at Kempton and Ffos Las last summer. Acquired for 42 000gns after but got no further than the second on hurdles bow at Ffos Las in October. More like it when third here last month and now up in trip (should stay well). Big player.

Won 10-runner bumper at Morlaix (12.9f, good to firm) 165 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving P. Journiac for €90,000 in November and he's a fascinating contender.

Half-brother to useful chaser Billaway and, having won a bumper, made a pleasing start to his hurdling career when third in a novice at Stratford in June 2021. Shaped as though in need of the run on last month's return from a lengthy absence at Fontwell.

Forecasts

Impact Du Bonheur (4/6), Gyenyame (85/40), San Fermin (11/2), Shot Tower (40/1), Polar Cloud (40/1), Getaway Tothe Wood (200/1), Dream Bet (250/1)

Verdict

IMPACT DU BONHEUR displayed plenty of ability in French bumpers last year, winning his final start, and having subsequently switched to Paul Nicholls, a successful hurdles debut would come as no surprise. Gyenyame stayed well on the Flat so this trip will suit and he looks the main danger, ahead of San Fermin.
