Stables Business Park Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 15:26 | Winning time: 6m 10.48s

Trevada^t³³

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: O Sherwood| OR: 110

7/1

Fair bumper scorer for Nigel Twiston-Davies and similar standard over hurdles for current yard, showing improved form with a tongue tie added when second on 21.5f Exeter handicap debut in December. Doncaster race last time was an insufficient test and he's now upped in trip. Big player.

Form: 36-2825

Mullinaree^t⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: Mitchell Bastyan| T: M F Harris| OR: 108| BF

15/8

Fair form in bumpers in Ireland and placed over hurdles for current yard, pulling well clear of the rest when second at Sedgefield a week ago. Big player if he sees out this longer trip.

Form: 3-33422

Fancy Your Chances⁵¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: M G Nolan| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 107

9/1

Runner-up in the first of 3 bumpers last winter and placed in mares' maiden/novice hurdles this time round. Bit disappointing switched to a handicap in the mud when last seen in January but could do better now.

Form: 255-324

The Bold Thady^p²⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 99

10/3

Has shown a fair level of ability over hurdles and has the raw ability to win from this mark. Rarely finds much for pressure though (carried head awkwardly when second a month ago) so backing him comes with risks attached.

Form: 235342

Shantou Sunset^p,t⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-3| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 99| D

16/1

Scored at Stratford last spring on final start for Philip Hobbs but hasn't covered herself in glory in 4 starts for present connections.

Form: 614P76

Aldsworth^p1³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 94

10/1

Showed promise in a Stratford bumper and has looked a work-in-progress in his qualifying runs. Now upped markedly in trip for handicap debut. Cheekpieces on.

Form: 4-637

Barrowmount²³

Age: 7| Weight: 10-7| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: J W Mullins| OR: 89

20/1

Maiden winner in 2021 but all downhill in handicaps back from a lengthy absence.

Form: FP87P8

Unspeakable^t1⁷¹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-6| J: Jack Tudor| T: Christian Williams| OR: 88

16/1

Little in the way of solid form but his heavy defeat on handicap debut can be overlooked (made a bad mistake). Tongue tie on.

Form: F-F00P

Per Vino Veritas^b¹²

Age: 8| Weight: 10-4| J: Sean Houlihan| T: J Tizzard| OR: 86

10/1

Modest maiden but stopped the slide when third in 21.4f handicap at Wincanton 12 days ago. Task is to now build on that trying a new trip.

Form: 40-7P93

Forecasts

Mullinaree (15/8), The Bold Thady (10/3), Trevada (7/1), Fancy Your Chances (9/1), Aldsworth (10/1), Per Vino Veritas (10/1), Unspeakable (16/1), Shantou Sunset (16/1), Barrowmount (20/1)

TREVADA is crying out for this stiffer test of stamina and he looks the way to go. Mullinaree also goes up in trip and is a big threat, with Fancy Your Chances dangerous if casting aside a lesser effort when last seen in January.
